Moulin d'Issan, Bordeaux Supérieur
The grapes for Moulin d'Issan come from the historically owned vineyard that abuts the château's driveway: one side is Margaux, the other a bit too close to the Gironde to be called Margaux is classified simply as Bordeaux Supérieur. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot and the vines average age is just under 20 years; the wine is aged in barrels that are already over a couple of years old for about a year. Medium-bodied, it shows plum, blackberry and crème de cassis flavours.

ABOUT THE WINE
This fabulous red Wine from Château d'Issan originates from the Bordeaux Supérieur area of Bordeaux. Available in 75cl bottles, supplied by Twins SA. Moulin d'Issan, Bordeaux Supérieur is a delighful wine, made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. This wine has a cork closure and is made with added suplhites but is suitable for vegetarian drinkers. Cabernet-dominated claret, an elegant partner for grilled beef, roast lamb, and game.
Merlot produces medium bodied, fleshy, juicy wines with round tannins. Often seen as a single varietal, or in a blend with Cabernet Sauvignon to take the hard edges off. Its grown all over the world and commercially one of the most important red grapes in the on-trade.
A full bodied and powerful grape variety with a lot of tannin. It ages very well and like Merlot is bottled as a single varietal or used to give blended wines ‘backbone’ structure and longevity. Classic flavour characteristics include blackcurrant, black cherry, green pepper, chocolate and cedar wood.
